FAD History

 

FADs are gaining recognition in some of the worlds most popular destinations.  And for good reason.  The fish stocks from pelagics to local species have been maintained even as the angler and diver traffic has increased.  

 

For example, Hawaii now has 49 State Sponsored FADs.   The island of St. Thomas, the Dominican Replublic, Mexico, and Costa Rica all have either State or Privately sponsored FADs. All are proving to be productive in acheiving the goals of healthy fish stocks and enjoyment by the public.
